The map below shows some (not all) of the places we explored in our five weeks in the United Kingdom. We drove 3,114 miles through England and Scotland and stayed in 11 different places.
Scotland – Skye and Aboyne
We survived the cold and the rain while driving and hiking around the Isle of Skye. We saw beautiful countryside and spent some quality time with Grandma and Papa. The next leg took us to Belwade Farm and the lovely town of Aboyne. Spending time outdoors and with animals was definitely a highlight for the kids.
Northumberland Adventures
After living in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne from 2004-2006, we’ve finally come back to Northern England to rediscover old haunts and find some new ones. Our journey begins with a small “Shepherd’s Hut” in South Berrington, a wedding on Holy Island, and a hike with friends along the Jesmond Dene. Inbetween we found time to go berry picking and briefly explore a few historic towns.
