We have been staying up near Derwent/Kiln Pit Hill this week and had signed CJ up for a football camp at Stocksfield Cricket and Football Club (where my dad, uncle and grandad all played) run by the Newcastle United Foundation. It has been a great week and CJ has loved every minute of camp, playing football for 5 hours a day – then getting the ball out and having a kick-about with daddy at home after to show off his new skills.
There was a presentation at the end of the course today and we were incredibly proud to see CJ named as “Player of the Course” by the coaches! There were about 30 kids between ages 4-14 on the course so this was an unexpected award for CJ given that he was in the youngest group. I managed to get a little video of the announcement of the award which is below. CJ is chuffed to bits with the week and his award. The Newcastle United Foundation coaches and volunteers, in particular Jordan and Joel, were fantastic with the kids – thank you!
